Ten Flexible Yogis on Their Favorite Yoga Tunes

Image

This weekend, we decided to search for some inner peace at YogaFest in Huizenga Park, Fort Lauderdale. We want to say we weren’t inspired by overconsumption of weed brownies or Easter candy, but, then we’d be lying. Too much THC and sugar will naturally send you into the downward facing dog and/or child’s pose.

The South Florida music community is like a family. If one of us goes down, you can bet the rest of us will support that fallen cousin in party. Whether it’s in the form of a cold brew or a whole night dedicated to raising money to help pay medical bills, you’re set for life in these tropical parts.

One of the important life lessons, a cliché that’s oh-so-true, is that all good things must come to an end. Things that bring us delight and wonderment diminish all too quickly — like boy bands, Twinkies, or fanny packs. Hukilau, a four-day Tiki fest that celebrates Polynesian pop culture will bid “aloha” as it celebrates its final run this June.

Stache Opening Night: Patrons Reveal Their Favorite Mustache Looks

Patrons and employees were swaddled in pearl necklaces, fishnet, boas, and other prohibition era attire this Saturday at the grand opening of Fort Lauderdale speakeasy Stache. The sax was the instrument of choice at this Great Gatsby-style event and the decor consisted of sophisticated bookshelves, sparkling chandeliers and, oddly enough, even a picture of Chuck Norris. But hey, we dig Walker, Texas Ranger as much as Daisy Buchanan.

So one of our recent posts discussed unlimited mimosas under $30 for brunch. While mimosas on the cheap are delicious, free mimosas just taste THAT much better. Fort Lauderdale’s famous burger joint ROK BRGR offers free mimosas to ladies on Sundays from 10-3 pm. It’s a win-win situation – ladies get to drink as much mimosas as they want for free while men don’t have to worry about breaking their bank buying drinks. But don’t worry, gents – you will get your fill of manliness, too.
