7 “Cool Dad” Things to Do This Weekend

Father’s Day is this weekend, and we can’t ignore one obvious fact: Moms are so much easier to shop for. With stores pushing handyman products and fishing gear in your face, it’s frustrating because hey, not all fathers are into repairing stuff or sitting on a boat all day holding a still rod. Some dads are, well, cool.

5. Imbibe Happy Hour supporting Multiple Sclerosis Foundation at Bar Stache

5 p.m., Friday, June 6, at Bar Stache 1920’s Drinking Den, 109 SW Second Ave., Fort Lauderdale.$10 suggest donation. Visit Facebook.

Earlier this week, Bar Stache hosted Jack’s Joint, a blackjack tournament to raise money for the Special Olympics. And they’re having yet another do-gooder event tonight to help gather funds for the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, a service-based, nonprofit organization that offers support to those with MS and educational programs. DJ C2 will be the featured music provider and, in typical sensual Stache fashion, burlesque dancer Angeliki will perform, as well. Attendees of this fun charity event can enjoy $5 off select craft beer and half off the cocktail menu.

The 1920s-themed speakeasy, Stache, has been generating a lot of buzz lately that can be accredited to its laid-back concerts, cool vibe, and uniquely crafted cocktails. Tonight, the space once known as Green Room will be lit up for an entirely different reason. Stache is sponsoring the Special Olympics’ benefit and blackjack tournament, Jack’s Joint.

5. Black Fridays: Fort Lauderdale Homecoming

10 p.m., Friday, May 30, at Bar Stache 1920’s Drinking Den, 109 SW Second Ave., Fort Lauderdale. Free for ladies, $5 for guys. Visit Facebook.

Rejoice! Black Fridays are back at their original home — albeit a home with a new look. After moving south when Green Room became Stache, and with the closure of Miami’s Vagabond, the party is back where it belongs. DJs Lorenzo DjKaos Fernandez and DJ LinderSMASH return along with promoter Johnny Veo. Think of this as a decadent, dark dessert after a long juice diet.
