New Times Internship Day #17: Thursday, July 1, 2010. Worked 10:30 am-7:00 pm

Today was my last day interning. It was very bittersweet because I had made friends with some of the people on staff and am going to miss them terribly. On the other hand, I was relieved that I did not have to complete any tasks on the computer for seven hours straight for five days a week. The computer takes a toll on my eyes and they hurt at the end of the day when I’m on the computer for too long. Regarding work I did, I finished uploading the rest of the pictures on the website. However, some of the pictures I could not resize, so I emailed Eric the list of photos I could not upload due to resizing issues or copyright issues. I also called restaurants that are featured on the website to ensure that the given location is the same (some had two locations online) and called another establishment to confirm a statement saying that it was shutting down. The number was not a working number, so the rumor must be true. I learned to open a PDF file and print it out correctly. This is particularly useful in the future as I used to have trouble opening such files for research for school. Overall, today was busy but very touching as I said good-bye to everyone.
