Today was one of the most interesting days at PBS. This was due to the fact that someone came in to be interviewed for a segment on the show “ArtStreet” at one o’clock. His name is Peter Pozo, and he is an interior decorator. Although he wanted a series on the before and after process of designing apartments, Mia explained that it was very expensive to do that and a segment would be in his best interest. Through this, I learned that TV stations prefer one hour long segments as opposed to half hour long segments. This is because it is less work to fill in time slots because there are fewer programs to work with. I was very intrigued and impressed with Peter. Aside from the fact that he is amiable and persistent, he is extremely successful – he started his own business by knocking on people’s doors with only $500 to his name. Aside from this, the day was full of looking at the time codes I did for the Martin Luther King Jr. archive footage. Mia and I did this before and after Peter came in to be interviewed (Note: we are unsure whether or not we can do a segment with him. However, it is looking to be in his favor). Overall, today was a very fun day yet it was filled with work.
